My book club read 2 dystopian near future novels this year! And perhaps because it is the question I keep asking myself, they both had a theme of "what should we do?". Answers range from hunker down, survive somehow, build a small supportive community, escape - but where to?, go underground and be subservive - but at what cost to yourself and your loved ones.
I'm curious enough about how the human race deals with this that I want to stick around a bit. I think it could go either way. We, as a species, might wake up simply put of a need to survive. We might not. Fishing, at least metaphorically might not be a bad solution. I plan to enjoy life the best I can. Be supportive and kind to others as well as I can and see where it goes.
